Tidbits II

Thanks for the well-wishes and concerns on the new bike. I’m slowly breaking it in. I went for a ride last night. In a word, SWEET! I had sold my scooter but the guy backed out. No biggie, it’s paid for and I have the space.

As for the safety issues, yeah there is that. However, as Joe pointed out a lot of guys get bikes to increase the perception of coolness, manhood or likability. Not so in my case. I could care less really. I upgraded for a variety of reasons but the biggies were based on practicality.

  • 1) While the scooter was great for tooling around the city, I had a really hard time w/it during rain or poor weather days. It is so light that any rain makes it very dangerous to slide around on the street.
  • 2) I can afford a car but don’t want the hassles of parking, storage, fees, etc. I have a garage space so storage isn’t bad however, parking is simplistic w/a bike. Fees even less hassle.
  • 3) I’m no longer citybound. I can actually get on the freeway and drive over the bridge. While not a primary factor it is nice to have the added mobility.

Nothing To See Here…

How did I spend today? Mostly tied up in fraking meetings I didn’t care to be in. Two hours turned into four. Next thing I know, the day is over. I did manage to get a few things done. I’m just out of the bathroom from trimming all my body hair. Notice I said trim not shave. I detest the whole shaved stubbley look/feel guys get into. Nothing worse than licking a guys. . . you get the picture.

And have I ever mentioned how much I fucking hate doing laundry. *insert prayer to whatever diety you believe in here that I win the lotto and can hire a housebo.* Anyway, nothing exciting to report. I wish I had some philosophical statement to make. Something profound to wow you. Nope. Sorry, you are stuck w/plain ole me today.

In other meandering news, my new jeans from the Gap arrived today. I’m horrible at buying jeans. I always hem-haw about whether to get’em or not, if they fit me well, make my butt look good, yadda yadda yadda. Instead, I opt for several brands and styles that I’m used to. I log on, order’em up and have’em delivered. Easy said, easy done. Shirts, on the otherhand, are a whole nother story. I think I already covered the many different ways to shop.

Check back later for something profound, we’re all out today.

Who da?

So in completely random news, I’m liking the new phone. The sd drive is screwy so Tmobile is sending me a new one. In the mean time, I’m liking it.

Here’s a snapshot from the new camera.
Crazy Fag

Not up to par with my digital one but not bad for a phone cam. It’s 1.3 megapixels. I never used the camera on the old one, it was horrible. This one will be ok I guess.

Contented Bliss

Somedays are just too nice to complain. I got a great sleep on the new mattress. (Lindsey Wagner was right! You really do get a more “restful” sleep on a good mattress. *giggle*)

The stomach is almost 100% again. I was still a tiny bit quesy yesterday. My energy wasn’t on par w/normal either. Today, I’m feeling like my old self again. Course, no rest for the wicked. I’m off to work early as I’m due to instruct a class.

About the old journal post, I got a lot of questions why I thought moving back to TX was a good idea. Well, mainly because I didn’t know many people in Boulder/Denver. I felt isolated. This only added to my loneliness at the time. I don’t think I was capable of seeing the truth of the situation consciously. However, my subconscious mind it seemed was working overtime to protect me. The next old journal entry will be a hard one to post. It’s a bit raw. I was beginning to feel desperate. I promised to post “as-is” w/o any tinkering and I will. But that doesn’t make it any easier. Even today, I’m almost always moved to tears reading it.

Ok, duty calls…the madness continues.

Muggy

It’s raining like a mofo out right now. So much for my glorious plans to soak up some sun over my weekend.

Oh well, off to the gym. Have to instruct a class later otherwise, it’s chore city for me today. Blech!

Tic Toc…

In random tidbits, I’ve been sitting around all morning waiting for Safeway to show up. (I get my groceries delivered.) They finally got here w/15 minutes to spare. I was hoping they’d show up early so I could squeeze some gym time in. Guess not.

The BCC contest last night only had one contestant but he was a hottie. I don’t know why but late February is very slow every year. Odd. Last year, we didn’t have any contestants on this particular week. This year, even though we only had one contestant, there was a large turnout of people. And he raised $300 in raffle tickets all by himself. Pretty good for a Thursday night. And, we got three more contestants for next week!

In the blogging world, Beyond Buffalo is in town and hasn’t called me once! Bitch better call me or I’m taking you off my blogroll. *eg* (We are supposed to hang out.) I’m also a bit sad. I have to wait another 6 months before I get to meet Steve from Bent Collective. He’s been promising me a date when he gets back to the Bay area. Course, he has to come back for that to happen! (I’m just giving him grief. He has to come back someday…I think?) He took a 6 month assignment in Uzbekistan (look it up) doing what he does best. I don’t envy going to such a dangerous place but if you read Steve, you understand.

I’m wearing so many hats at work right now, I feel like a drag queen. Union, tech, dispatcher, instructor, training coordinator, blah blah blah….. I like it though. A lot of changes coming in the year and hopefully all good. I’ve got two more ride-alongs scheduled which I’m very happy about. I talked to the chief of our division and she is very supportive of my efforts. That makes a big difference.

I had a surprising encounter w/a guy from Denver this week. We all make assumptions about people before we meet’em. I’m no exception. The guy turned out to be so much more than what I assumed. So much so, I invited him to sleep over. He did! All in all, it was a very nice encounter.

Speaking of encounters, I’ll probably sneak off and be slutty tonight. I’ve been a very good boy lately. I think I deserve a reward.

Where Am I…?

…and why am I in this handbasket!

The blog will go dark for a bit till I make the move and get settled. I called in sick to work today (cough cough) so I could finish packing. Had to help a friend move a washer/dryer early this morning and then have dinner plans w/friends for another belated b’day present tonight. I get 5 quality hours of packing. Here’s hoping it’s enough.

I’m sure I’ll find an open wifi somewhere however, it’s bottom of the priority list at the moment. Saint Crotchity Queen of the City, aka southern Tim, is coming over tomorrow morning to help w/the final stuff before the movers arrive.

Hope everyone had a good weekend, mine begins today and will be spent hauling shit around the city.

Wish me luck!

Insurgent Thoughts

Nothing to rant about at the moment so I’m sharing some thoughts…

I, too, love cheesey-poofs!

For all the hype over Brokenback Mountain, I’d better be masturbating by the end

I don’t care how fabulous your blog is, don’t ask me to vote for you.

George Bush Blows

If you need instructions on a condom wrapper, you shouldn’t breed.

Did I mention, I’m an EMT now?

I love my tivo.

Tacos really are better w/salsa

Ford Tough!? NOT!

I love you too, now bend over.

Pissing, Moans, & Bitches

After 8 hours of instructing today, I’ve realized my schedule is pushing my physical limits. I’m doing too much. Work, overtime, school, instructing, charities it’s pushing me to exhaustion. If I’m gonna survive the coming months, I need to cut back.

Class ends in three weeks so that’s one less piece to worry about. My work schedule sign-up is coming in just a few days too. To accommodate my coming EMT hours, I have to stay on a 4-10 shift. This just means I won’t be able to go back to weekends off on a 5-8 shift. However, there is a good chance I can snag a Sun/Mon/Tue slot. That would be very much to my liking. Time will tell.

I’m only buying gifts for one person this year so xmas shopping is almost over. I’m also making an effort to get my xmas cards out on time THIS year. Last year, I mailed’em 3 days before christmas. Better late than never right? lol

In other news, I may have found an apt. to move into. It’s close to the Castro like I want. It’s not a done deal yet and it won’t be available till around February. I’m still planning on looking around after xmas for other deals. But it would be really nice if it panned out and I didn’t have to stress over it.

One last bitch before I forget. My favorite bakery, Le Bon Gateaux, has been turned into this freakishly modern coffee/juice shop w/all the comforts of a crack house an std clinic. WTF were they thinking? I give it 6 months before it folds.

But I’m not bitter…
