This past Saturday I spent my time volunteering for the BCC Meet & Greet. (Pictures forthcoming) Minus the blister from tying balloons, it was a great time. The committee is much more organized this year and it is really beginning to show. The day went off w/o a hitch and we raised a sizeable amount of money to boot.
The Meet & Greet serves to officially introduce the incoming year of guys to the public. The day started w/Kitton on the Keys! A sort of burlesque meets vaudville entertainer. Funny as all hell! She was my favorite part of the whole day. Kitten honey, if you are out there, I LOVE YOU!
Pepperspray was in attendance as well and turned out a spectacular performance. I’m not a big fan of drag/glam bands but they were pretty damn good. To my surprise, I discovered I’ve already been “aquainted” w/one of the guitar players. He really is multi-talented. Who knew?! Anyway, I guess there is sort of a scandal surrounding Pepperspray beyond my indiscretions. One of the singers (in drag), also does porn. Apparently, he is really good at that too. Even decked out in face, it’s obvious when you see them in person which one he is. Not being really up on most porn these days, I haven’t the foggiest idea who he is ‘in the biz’. However, as fab looking as she was, under all that glam lurked a MAN. There was also a snake charmer performance. I thought it kind of lame. Eveyone else was oooh’ing and aaaaah’ing over it. I guess growing up on a farm w/tons of snakes as a norm, I was expecting more.
Afterwards, Mostovic, myself, Tyrone and his trick, oh I mean date, adjourned to Harveys in the Castro for a late meal. (Ok, I’m feeling caddy today, sue me!)

Well, I originally planned to go across the bay today and lay out. However, due to an unexpected overhaul of the BCC website, that didn’t happen. Instead, I’m here at Le Bon Gateaux typing my little fingers to the bone. I’ve been at it almost 3 hours now and I’m almost done. Arrrrrrgggh!
The committee chairman decided to change the logo for the entire domain. There are 45 separate pages to update! Not to metion, the other 40 or so that haven’t been posted yet. I knew I should have made the pages dynamic instead of static. Of course, that would have meant a helluva lot more work to setup. Without some sort of compensation, that was just too much to tackle. So now I’m stuck playing tedious Tom. To be honest, I don’t like the new logo much. However, it is not my site so I put what they tell me.
I just had lunch w/roblog.
The more I get to know Rob the more I like him. Handsome, kind, compassionate, hard-working, considerate… need I go on? Fuad is indeed a lucky man. (Fuad is is equally handsome husband). So we met at Chow and had a good lunch just gabbing and catching up. While there, Fuad actually came in w/his lunch buddy. (I gathered Chow was his favorite hangout)
Not much else to report at the moment. I’m off to work. Tonight is the finals for the BCC so I’m sure I’m headed to that afterwork w/Tim and Mostovic.
This past Sunday I got a chance to watch the first showing of “Pursuit of Equality“. Made here in SF, the film documents the controversy of Mayor Newsom allowing SSC’s (same sex couples) to marry this past year. It has not been released yet as the producers have yet to find a distributor. Anyway, 5 minutes into the film, I’m bawling my eyes out. The sheer joy on the faces of the couples gathered at City Hall that day were just overwhelming. Watching the first lesbian couple, who have been together 52 years, exchange their vows in the Mayors office was a truly historic event.
I urge you to see it is picked up. I’m sure it will be part of the film festivals around the country. Spend the bucks and see it!
Oy, I’m a bit tired today. Last night was the first final for the BCC. They had 11 contestants! OMG! it was fun but waaaaaay long! I didn’t get home till just before 2:00am. At least it’s friday.
I’ve been neglecting the blog as of late. Not out of some profound life enjoyment, mainly just busy w/work. I’ve also been neglecting my gym time and starting Monday on a brand new routine. (where have I heard that before?)
Looks to be a busy weekend….details later.
Last night was the final preliminary for the BCC. I got there late as I had to work but TH picked me up and we got there just in time to catch contestant #3 of the 5 total. (I usually have their site updated by Sunday)

I also managed to snap a lap shot of Th and I. Neither of us liked this shot as it distorts our faces. Oh well, you can’t always have good lighting right?. Instead of looking high, I look like I have a fat head in this one. Speaking of the hottie, we are fast becoming close friends. Now whether that will develop into something more is unknown at this point. We just like spending time w/each other. I have to admit, it is nice to snuggle up next to him when we are out. My ex abhorred any sort of personal affection in public. TH on the otherhand seems to enjoy it as much as I. wahoo!
Oh TGIF btw. It has been a decent week w/o the drama queen here. Other than my one rough call things have been nice. The big issue now is our local union chapter is ramping up for a big fight against the city for our raise. The city tripled our duties 2 years ago w/o any sort of raise and we have reached our limit w/that. Things are about to get radical if we don’t see some results soon.
Speaking of the ex, we are scheduled to get together on Sunday and swap out some furniture. We still have some loose ends together. From all the little tattletales who feel the incessant need to give me updates on his life, he seems to be doing fine. I don’t know why they feel the need to run back to me. The ex and I talk often enough I know he is doing ok, I don’t need anyone’s input over it. *hint hint*
Not much else for now. Maybe later I can blather on about something.
I’m just home from the BCC contest. We had a whopping 6 contestants tonight. That is the most yet. Four of which made it to the finals. I got there late tonight as my schedule has gone back to normal since getting my fire training out of the way.
TH went w/me, which was very nice. I find I enjoy spending time w/him as we always seem to laugh a lot. I miss that. I took the camera w/me and snapped this pic of him and Thom who is a finalist for the contest.
Hopefully, I won’t fuck it up and scare him off. *crossed fingers* We did have a good laugh before hand. I wasn’t going to post this originally but you guys already know I’m screwy in the head so here goes. The other night I was feeling a bit lonely. TH had left an under shirt from his sleepover (yes, he slept over one night) and I put it over my pillow so I could sleep w/it. How pathetic is that I ask you? He seemed flattered so I guess all is not lost. I can say I didn’t wake up once that night. *g*
Anyway, back to the present. We had a nice time. All the photographers were snapping pics of us tonight so I’ll have several more pics to post later. I also ran into another friend Mark and his new crush. I snapped off a shot of them as well.
They make a cute couple. Mark (on the right) is a great guy and he deserves someone special in his life. His last LTR ended a bit rough so I was tickled to see he has a new flame as well.

Lets see, not much to report today. Mostly random crap that I feel worth mentioning.
First, Republic of T had a great post regarding the Shiavo case and the Democrats total lack of a voice during the whole process. While I’m normally of the mindset that the “christian-not-right” drive more people to my side than against with all their madness, it would be nice if more than a few Dems. would grow a spine and voice an opinion once and awhile. As I’m writing this, I am thinking originally the Democrats probably thought it was a non-issue and the fact that the republicans latched onto it w/such fervor caught them completely by surprise. As a result, the Dems. are caught w/their jaw open staring in total disbelief at the sheer ignorance of the republican party. Well, thats my hope anyway.
The BCC contest this past Thursday went well. We got 3 more really good contestants. *I’ll have photos of the contest posted by Sunday on the BCC site. There are two more preliminaries to go before the finals so any of you locals who are having thoughts of making a go of it, get off your duff and get down to The Powerhouse next Thursday. You can even download an application to compete here.
TH’s family is in town for the weekend so I won’t get any solo time w/him until at least Monday. I know it is selfish to want him all to myself but at least someone I know has good family ties.
roblog is doing a bit better in his drama as of late. I’m very happy to hear that. I’m trying to squeeze in another lunch in w/him so we can catch up.
I think I discovered a way to create a static html/php page using a plugin I found for WordPress. WTF you say? Static just means its one page instead of several. It would make it much easier for me to copy/past code into the layout of the new template. Thats is kind of low priority right now but I promise I’ll eventually get to it.
I’ve been hitting the gym sporadically but I’m almost back into my normal routine. I’ve lost some strength all over but not as much as I had feared. I got a nice pump today from my chest workout and that put me in a good mood. *G* The eye candy today was better than usual as well.
I was released on the fire side at work which means I can work solo over there now. *We are in the process of taking over dispatching from the Fire Dept.* The down side to that means I’ll be back on the PD side Monday and no more getting off early.
I think thats about it. No deep thoughts today. Just sort in the moment.
This past Thursday I was hanging out at the Powerhouse for the Bare Chest Calendar contest. I’m not required to be there since I’m just doing the website. However, my friend Tim is always trying to drag me to a bar so I thought I’d kill two birds w/one stone. [1]Don’t ya like the way I shoved it off on you Tim? It really is all your fault.
So I’m hanging out and Norm, one of the photographers, snapped this shot of myself and one of the calendar husbands. (meaning his partner is involved in the event) Not my best shot but I ain’t afraid to let it all hang out. *g*
