Castro

This weekend is Castro St Fair. I normally like to go but am stuck at work. (Remember, no more weekends off for me for awhile.) It’s a nice sunny day today w/temps in the 70’s. Perfect day if you ask me. Warm w/o being hot.

I’m feeling a bit better today. It’s amazing what a good night’s sleep will do for ya.

OH No He Din’t!

Ya know, sometimes I just wish I could tell some of my callers…

I’d slap you but shit splatters!

But that would probaby get me fired. Ok, not fired but at least suspended. Ok not suspended but at least written up.

I’m feeling icky today. I think I’m borderline getting a cold/worn down. Too many hours put in this week and not enough sleep.

“Take two of these and call me in the morning” sounds appropriate right now. I just wish I had the “two of these” part.

I’m home, catching up on Tivo, slugging down an Odwalla, and waiting for exhausted sleep to overtake me.

What A Maroon!

I’m a bit busy this week w/work,gym, and training the new cadets. And I’m horribly behind on my blogroll.

Yours truly got click happy and paid too much on 3 bills and ended up almost bouncing some checks today. I was annoyed I could just kick myself. I made some “transfers” and all is good again. *sigh*

Scoot Scoot Lizard!

I’m recovered from my “exertions” over the weekend. Today was errand day again. I am officially a Geico convert. That damn pesky lizard nabbed me. Actually, my insurance was up and I thought I’d check just to see how they compare. As stated, they did save me about $100.00 for the year. Let’s see how their service turns out.

I also had the glorious task of standing in line at the DMV for an hour. I felt fortunate in that it only took an hour this time! I took the laptop as I thought I’d do a little blogging to pass the time. No such luck, no wifi signal. So instead I played solitaire and pacman till my number came up.

Insurance..check. DMV registraion….check. Now what?

Scooter Blue
Oh yeah, time for a tune-up. I took the scooter in to have it checked over and to get the tires replaced. I have yet to take it in for any routine maintenace. I’m way over due to the tune of $420.00. Yes you read it right, $420.00. I know it’s a lot but I’ve neglected the little bugger and it’s time to get him back in shape. Nothing like a new frock to brighten up your day right?

Folsom Weekend 2005 II

**Warning – this post isn’t exactly work friendly

Sunday was the fair and I spent most of the day managing the BCC booth. Once again, I kept forgetting to take pics. I got to meet Jack Hampster too! He stopped by the booth and introduced himself. I was hoping he’d stop by.

Mr. January 2006 hard at work signing calendars.

The very handsome and sweet Joey.

David & Marty stopped by to say hi. (A testament to my poor picture skills w/crappy lighting)

Didier and I got a kick out of this pic. Here is little Alan diligently signing calendars. Poor thing he can barely see over the table!

Two more of the calendar boys George and Barry shakin’ their groove thang. (they should stick to being pretty I think)

Gratuitous butt shot!

Mostovic came by too. I got such a giggle realizing the sign behind the pic afterwards.

I love seeing guys holding hands so I couldn’t resist this pic.

Sexy Ivan stopped by and said hi. His energy is very infectious along w/his laugh.

Another calendar guy Chris (left) and a hottie who made me swoon. (keep scrolling and you’ll see why!)

The hottie’s butt! Da-YUM!

Hottie #2. I enticed him over for a quick shot. Oy Vey!

All the guys did a great job promoting calendars and helping out. I was very proud to be apart of the charity. The day went off w/o a hitch.

Afterwards, Bobby showed up in his new army pants and we went off to dinner. Then home for a power nap and a goog soak in the jacuzzi.

Today, I had to teach computer training to the new dispatcher class then off to study group. I had a great weekend but I wore myself out. I’m a bit lethargic today. Whew!

Folsom Weekend 2005 I

Folsom weekend started out w/the Bigmuscle party at the Mezzanine on Saturday. Talk about yummy beefy men. It was like the festival of lights but w/flesh instead! The bigger space this year made for a much more enjoyable experience overall. The ex and I went together. Our first event besides dinner since the break up. We got along fine actually.

I kept forgetting to take pictures but I did get a few.

Here is the ex and I.
Moby & D

We ran into our buddy Thor and snapped off a quick shot.

I got a nice surprise running in B & D from Denver. I knew D from my days living in Boulder. His new boyfriend (on the left) was very sweet.

Two of my favorite calendar boys Valtar & Allen. They make a great couple. Nice and handsome.

I had a great time at the party. I did get one small disappointment though. They did some sort of porn star premier for up and coming film. There was one guy who I knew did photos but never knew he was into porn. Anyway, I’ve always thought this guy was incredibly hot. However, seeing at the party tweaked out of his gourd ruined any delusions of naughtiness. The only downer for the whole evening.

FTL Time Again

On a happier note (and trying to divert my fretting), I bought my plane tickets for Ft. Lauderdale today. I make a trip every year now. I really enjoy the warm water and beaches. In my heart, I guess I’m still just a beach bum. I got a decent fair on Southworst. I only have one layover going and a direct flight coming back. FTL is top of the list for places I’m moving after I finish my medic training here.

I’m going over halloween this year which promises to be fun. Never been during a holiday so I’m curious to see how they deck the city out. After all the bad news and tragedies of late, I am looking forward to getting away and just sunn’n my buns. Now, I just need to work on getting a base tan.

I’m taking the camera AND the laptop so I’ll try to get some better pics this time. Last year, I inadvertently lost the sd card w/most of my pics on it. This year I plan on taking an extra card and leaving copies on the laptop.

WTF Update

Well, looks like they are gonna sit it out. Some are headed to a shelter and some are heading North.

My oldest brother has decided to just ride it out. I am the least worried about him as our place is situated on a hill away from the wind. While there will be some flooding, it would takea much larger event than a storm to flood him out. My younger blood fled north two days ago so he is ok as well.

My younger brothers ex-wife took my niece and nephew to her Dad’s place which is actually south and closer to the storm. Dumb bitch. She ain’t got the sense God gave a stupid goose. Add to that she is much closer to several refineries now as well. My brother is very upset obviously. He tried to go get’em but they won’t let you go Southbound at all now.

So now I am worried about my little niece/nephew. I’m keeping my fingers crossed they come out of it ok.

WTF?

It is just now noon here and I’m already exhausted. Got a call from my friend coming up from Houston that he won’t make it due to hurricane Rita (that bitch). I’m all bummed about that, then I start getting calls from the siblings and cousins. They are trying to get out of the city and may be crashing w/yours truly.

Hurricane Rita!

I don’t mind, of course, but you are speaking of peple who have never 1) been farther than 100 miles from home, 2) never ridden an airplane. I get into planning mode, thinking ok, I’ll need to rent a car, pickup an extra air mattress, blah blah blah. Another call, oh they closed the airports in Houston (there are two). Ok, now what? Well, I’m sorta in limbo at the moment.

Options are 1) go home and hope it doesn’t hit 2) drive to Dallas and try to fly out from there 3) find a shelter and pray.

I’m almost hoping they do come. I don’t envy their situation and I welcome them w/open arms naturally. However, I’d just get some twisted joy out of trying to explain Folsom to them! I know ‘bad Moby’ but I can’t help it. Their reality is so much different from mine it’s like night and day. Could you see me trying to explain chaps or butt plugs?

Here I sit till I find out what they plan to do.
