Happy…

… multicolored painted hard-boiled egg weekend.  I’m told the event somehow celebrates a zombie who rose from the dead and ascended into a mythical warm and fuzzy place in an attempt to absolve all of humanity [1]well not all, only those chose few who are ‘saved’. The rest are supposed to go to another mythical place that’s said to be really really REALLY hot, w/no a/c or pool, and suffer for eternity. of its bad behavior, past, present, and future.

  1. Funny thing happened on Good Friday. A co-worker is a naturalized citizen now but originally from a state in southern India.

    This co-worker couldn't understand the association of rabbits, eggs, and chocolate with the alleged death and resurrection of the Jesus character.

    I explained to her that early Christian co-opted pagan rituals in order to make the transition to Christianity a little bit easier. Look at the holidays of Christmas and Easter. They both fall right around the solstice and equinox respectively.

  2. At our house, Easter dinner consists of Roast Leg of Lamb of God, and for dessert Mary Magdaline tarts! LOL
