Technorati or Technocrap?

I think I’ve discovered why so many VC companies like Technorati fail about 70% of the time. They don’t give a rats-ass about their user base.

My Technorati feed has been down for well over three weeks now. I’ve emailed twice w/o a response. No notice, no email, nothing warning of the outage. A quick perusal of their forums shows I’m not the only disgruntled user either. I don’t care that it is a free service. If you offer a service to thousands, even tens of thousands of people you at least have an obligation to warn them when it goes offline regardless of the reasons. Hell, if you can sp@m my inbox w/useless news about your staff, you can take the time to send a quick note, “oh btw, our service sucks and will be down while we try to figure out what went wrong“. No, I’m not bitter, why do you ask?

Not a big deal in the scope of things however, it is rather annoying when I’m trying to be nosy. lol
