This is back when I had hair. I think I look so gay in this pic. lol Even then I think it was obvious. Anyway, this was one of the few birthdays I actually celebrated, courtesy of my Grandma. She baked the cake and traveled 100 miles. I loved that old bird.

How cute! And how funny that you can see “gay” in yourself at such a young age. I don’t see it, yet I know what you mean because I’ve felt the same way about my own pics…but I don’t really see anything obviously gay in this photo, myself.

Your post, and the comments, make me laugh. I thought I was the only one. My sister used to peroxide her hair to give it those “golden highlights”. This was back in high school, in the sixties. There’s one picture I found of me an my sister standing in the sun, in the back yard, and our hair is the exact same shade of peroxide gold. Just in the front. I laugh, and I wonder…why didn’t someone clue me in then…how could anyone have not known? Would have made coming out a lot easier, at a much younger age, I think. Anyway, as always, good blog post.
