I finally got the Blogroll added back to the blog. My schedule is pulling more of my free time lately so I got tired of tinkering w/the code. It loads a static page for now. That my change in the future.
As for linking, I cleaned up the blogroll a bit. Some blogs are gone, a few new ones have been added. A few people have asked what it takes to get on my blogroll. Well, it varies. Content is a biggy of course. However, there are a few things that will get you there faster.
- 1) Blogs that have as much to do with the person as their hobbies are big on my list. I like reading about the person as much as what they think.
- 2) Posting a self-portrait or pics of yourself gives me a sense of connection. I detest faceless chats and blogs where I can see the person tend to perk my interest.
- 3) Be yourself. Be willing to put your not-so-best foot forward. It shows your humanity.
These are just a small indication of how I view blogs. There are always exceptions. Most of my blogroll I found thru comments left here or friends blogs. I tend to bookmark a blog and read it for a while before I add it to my list. That is pretty much my thought process on it. *g*
Anyway, I think I’m done tinkering for a while. (yeah right.)
Ya I thought I was done tinkering as well – but alas, 2 cans of Guinness and 90 minutes later I am still at my computer! ARGH!
Well, there’s a semi-old pic of me on my flickr line-up!
Awww….thanks for including me in your blogroll, Moby! *big hug*
A man with standards. As Paris says, “That’s Hot!”
You might want to dump my old Planet Voenix link…it’s been taken by someone who’s got one post and that discusses REAL ESTATE and they didn’t even spell VOENIX correctly on their header image! (Unless, of course, you MEANT to link to that site.)
Kudos to 1, 2, and all 3 of them! Call me sensitive, but I tend to be reading a blog for a while before I’d add to the blogroll. It’s like getting to know a person and his thoughts.
Interesting. Yeah, I don’t think I gave it much thought, but the blogs that I bookmark and read regularly are the ones where I’ve seen a picture of the person. And also, yes to all three. What a person thinks is interesting, but what they’re doing, I find very interesting. Just to know how other people live, and what they do, and the differences. Did you ever read someone’s blog for awhile, and you don’t realize it, but you’ve got a picture of them in your head, and then you see a real picture of them, and you’re like…”oh…oh no, that’s not what I pictured….at all”. Now I find myself sitting here thinking about the ones that have fallen out of my bookmarks. Yeah, pictures do tell the story, don’t they?
I particularly love catching little glimpses of Cooper‘s kids. Vids are the best. You see pics of some guy and he’s like all macho and bad-ass looking, and then you hear his voice, and you’re like …”oh my god….gay gay gay….”. Not to mention any names, specifically, um…..Moby.
